Veterans Tours

This is a page about the special tours we can provide for WWII Normandy veterans and their families returning to Normandy. Because of our gratitude and respect for the “Greatest Generation”, we offer specially reduced prices for groups that include a WWII Normandy veteran. Also we are happy to spend time before the tour, researching, planning and arranging the best possible visit we can. This research service we offer FREE OF CHARGE, providing of course you give us plenty of notice. This can include:

Tracing the 1944 route of a particular unit
Arranging access to places not open to the public
Organising ceremonies with the people of Normandy
Acquiring more details about a specific battle or action

Also because of the huge size of the Normandy battlefield and the difficulty visitors can have finding their way around once they move away from the main touristy beach areas, we are thrilled to offer you our services. The key factor is to let us know as far in advance as possible what your plans are and what specific unit your veteran served in.

It is also important to allow enough time in Normandy for such a once in a lifetime trip. We recommend two days of touring as a MINIMUM. This would mean we could offer (for example) a first day visiting the famous sites we show to thousands of clients each year, followed by a special day moving inland tracing your veterans’ movements. Don’t be put off because you think this special service is going to be too expensive. As mentioned we do our best to offer a reduced price, not only as a thank-you to the veteran, and to give you a great experience, but because these days are often the best days of the year for our staff too. Meeting and spending time with WWII veterans is a privilege for us, and as a bonus, we learn more stories for our standard tours.
