Travel Agents

 Working relationships and referrals

There are a variety of Travel Agencies around the world who recommend our tours to clients visiting France. We also have a great relationship with the Rick Steves organisation, having guided on some of their tours, and the National WWII Muesum in New Orleans who send many visitors to us here in Normandy. 

However in many ways we prefer all our clients to have browsed our website themselves so they are fully aware of what we offer and what our tours include. This is because we’ve had a couple of bad experiences with some rather amateurish agencies who had not passed on all the details of our service to the clients they booked with us, which unfortunately led to some problems. Nothing major, but easily avoided with better communication.

Commissions
We do not offer travel agent commissions - sorry, but we shall explain. We are in a highly competitive industry, with several other companies in Normandy offering tours at the same prices as us. However much of the reason we have the good reputation that we do is because of the high quality of our guiding staff to whom we need to pay a decent salary and give adequate days off to be with their families. In fact it is fair to say that without the great team we have there would be no Battlebus.

Consequently our staff are not students to whom we can pay a low wage, they are knowledgeable battlefield experts and are quite rightly valued accordingly. This means that we are in a constant battle to keep our prices in-line with other companies.  Because of this we simply don't have the profit-margin to offer discounts to Travel Agents.  The various Agencies we already work with in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia work with us for the simple reason that they know their clients will have a memorable and informative tour with us.
