Hello, My wife and I went on two tours with Stuart as our guide on both days. We were both very impressed with his knowledge and also the obvious passion he has for the events of June-August 1944. Also his sympathy for those involved really shone through. We visited sites that we would probably never have found on our own or perhaps even known about. Stuart is a credit to your company and I shall be grateful if you would pass on our thanks and best wishes to him. We probably learnt more in 2 days with him than I have from years of reading books. I have already recommended your company to my boss and father in law! Thanks once again, Kevin and Sue Thornely -

Myriam: I wanted to thank Battlebus for the wonderful tours that we had while in Normandie. The tours were great! You were right that both tours were very different. My husband was very happy with the surprise and he really enjoyed visiting the sites mentioned in books and movies. We were both very impressed with the level of knowledge of the tour guides. Although it might take us a little while to return to Normandie, we already started talking about taking some of the other tours offered by Battlebus (like the British Highlights) when we go back next time. Dale, I want to thank you for the recent tour of the American sector. Your knowledge of the events of D-Day was fantastic, second only to your amazing ability to recreate the scene from 63 years ago. I was especially impressed with the way you were able to keep the context of the massive scale of the operation while bringing the human element of war to the forefront with stories of heroism, fear, triumph and struggle of individual soldiers and small units. Walking in my grandfather's footsteps more than half a century later was a special event for me, but was made all the more worthwhile with your tremendous insight, tactful humor and humble approach to the historical importance of the events of that day. It is a tour we shall never forget, and hope to do again soon. Thanks again for everything. Michael and Melissa Eckroth -

Dear Battlebus: I have re-lived our two day tour of the D-Day beaches and battle sites quite often since our return home. I want to especially commend Sean on a wonderful two days. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed his presentations and we are so glad that we decided to book the tours. What most impressed us was Sean's sensitivity to the soldiers who served, fought and in many cases died during that time. Merci beaucoup! Edie and Bill Walsh -

Dear All (in particular Sean), Just a quick note to thank you for a wonderful weekend. The two tours were memorable and poignant for very different reasons. My Grandfather landed on Sword Beach on June 6th,1944 and both my Father and I were keen to see where he played his part in this amazing piece of history. Grandad passed away last year so emotions were running high and I would like to thank Sean and those who were with us for their interest and patience especially at the Beach itself. The little extra bit of information that was known about each and every part of the landings meant that Sean was able to divert from the main itinerary at any given point to make the tour personal to any of the people on the bus and their own particular reason to visit the Landings. This for me was what made the Tour so special. I have since been able to find out and use the information to further our knowledge of Grandad's movements (he spoke very little about the war, as I believe many veterans do), but we know that Sean's offer to find out even more for us using his comprehensive research tools will not be forgotten come the Winter and was a lovely thing to offer to do. Both tours cannot be highly recommended enough and the organisation from start to finish was first class. Thank you again and I am sure we will see you again in the near future. Good luck and keep up the good work. We shall always remember them. Yours, Martin Ford -

Hello to Paul and Myriam, A huge "thank you" to you both for your wonderful tour. We were very fortunate in September 2007 to have Paul lead our tour. Will never forget the wonderful stories he has gleaned from meeting the actual soldiers and the history he imparted to us. This was truly the best part our vacation. I hope that some day my sons and families can take this same tour. Best wishes, Suzanne Anderson and Judith Krizman, Lawrence, KS. -

My wife and I recently toured for a day with Jules Vernon. She had scheduled the tour due to my long-time and intense interest in WWII history and the D-Day invasion. It was everything and more than we had hoped it would be. Jules' knowledge, humor and customer service were outstanding. The details he related about the Allies planning for the invasion, his depth of knowledge of the rationale for Nazi defensive fortifications, their bunker design and gun emplacements, etc. brought the entire D-Day operation to life for us. He was also able to relate how errors in planning, just plain luck (good and bad) and the courage of the Allied troops resulted in both temporary set backs as well as small victories that paved the way for the Nazi's ultimate defeat. We would both do it again in a heartbeat, but this time we would spend an additional day or two with Jules! Thanks for a great day. Dick & Sharon Wall, Dallas -

Dear Sirs, I would like to thank your company and especially your guide, Dale, for the awesome tour of the American sector of the D-Day operation. I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your American Tour. My family (there were seven of us, including 3 children) was on a tour and Stuart Robertson was our guide. We enjoyed this tour so much we have recommended it to everyone we meet. We just wanted to let you know Stuart did a great job. My kids are still talking about that day and we all learned a great deal but it was a great history lesson for them. Thank you for a great job! Julie Burns -

Myriam, I wanted to give you some feedback on our Amercian D-Day tour with Jules. He was absolutely fantastic - very energetic and informative. We just got back home from our 16 day Europe trip. I will post our comments on your website but I wanted to also give this information directly to you. He was the best. Tim Delaney -

Dear Battlebus Operator: Just a note to let you all know, that we had an excellent experience on our tour with your man, Allan. The thing we enjoyed most about Allan was the way he described the events at each battle site, painting a vivid picture so that you could almost see the action before you. I've personally mentioned your tour to several friends who plan to make the trip to Normandy down the road. Again, thanks for providing the type of quality service that this important part of our history certainly demands. Very truly yours, James S. Sterling -

I just wanted to drop you a quick note concerning our recent tour with Sean. He did an excellent job on a couple fronts- 1. Made the topics interesting to all parties. Some of us in the group had read extensively on the topics and Sean was knowledgeable and ready to engage us in discussion on questions while at the same time he had the ability to connect with those within our group (my wife for example) who were in some ways just going along for the ride. In the end I almost felt they got more out of the tour than I did! 2. The inclusion within the tour of the personal stories really is a strong
point- especially for those who have little background or interest prior to the tour. 3. Back to the first point- he really knows he stuff- he isn't a tour guide who has a list of talking points regarding Pointe Du Hoc that he reads and then gets you back into the minibus. My family came over to France specifically to see the D-Day sites. As you can imagine a poor/weak tour guide could make or break the trip in some
sense. Sean made it for us. Thanks again, John L Toler -

First, let me say thanks Myriam! You were so helpful with the arrangements for our September tour. From the get-go, I received your personal attention. Battlebus is definitely a top notch group. We didn't have a lot of time to spend in Normandy so we did our homework on the best possible tour for us. We studied different tours and read the testimonials. To be honest, the testimonials on your webpage sounded too good to be true. We were in for a nice surprise. Our guide Dale, in his very personable and knowledgeable way, brought to life through charts, diagrams in the sand and stories of many individual acts of sacrifice of the military on both sides and civilians alike, the events of those early days of June 1944. We have a better understanding and deeper appreciation of the "forces" that contributed to the outcome of these events. Also, we were struck by the commitment of the locals who have honored so beautifully the sacrifices made by our troops. The the number of memorials and how nicely kept and continually improved they are after so many years is truly amazing. David Brunhofer and Lana Enlow -

I wanted to tell you how pleased we were with the Battlebus tours we took with Dale in December. I was travelling with my two sons, ages 26 and 17. Dale is a quality person who is so talented as a guide! His knowledge and passion and his excellent character really impressed us. I am a teacher myself and when we were researching Normandy tours I had told my kids that the quality of the person leading the tour is always the most important factor to consider. I am so grateful that my sons have had the opportunity to meet and be influenced by a person like Dale, and we really appreciate everything he did to make the tour days so good. Thank you so much. I was fortunate enough to take the American Highlights tour with Sean from Battlebus in late January, 2008 and it was truly a memorable day. The minibus was comfortable and Sean was a never-ending source of anecdotes and information about the beaches and battles. What I liked best about Sean's commentary is that he talked not about the generals and officers, but instead about average soldiers--the guys who bore the greatest burden on D-Day. Also, while I know that Sean is an experienced guide, he delivered his comments with the enthusiasm of a guy who was fresh and eager on the job. He never sounded like a tape recording of the "same old stuff." Sean, thanks for the memorable day, and thanks for your respect and reverence for the men who sacrificed their lives on D-Day. Hello, I've recently returned to the U.S. from a 10-day trip to France, where the highlight was most certainly the Battlebus tour through Normandy. I found the 1-day "American Highlights" tour fascinating and our guide, Dale, well-informed and a pleasure to spend the day with. I also had to chuckle at another tour guide who marched some tourists through Pointe du Hoc in a matter of minutes while we spent a good deal of time there actually learning about landscape and events of D-Day...which is really what the tour should be about. So, thank you very much, and I would highly recommend your company to anyone reading this. Tanya, Washington, DC –

Dear Paul & Myriam, I do apologize for this very belated thank you for the incredible time we had on November 6th & 7th on your American Experience Tour. Our time with Allan was well beyond our expectations. I wish I had brought a tape recorder so that I could remember all the wonderful anecdotes / stories, etc. that he shared with us over the 2 days. It was most certainly a life changing experience, and one we have shared with a large number of people. I believe there will be about 3-5 more couples contacting you in the next few months since we told them how incredible the tours were for John and I. I want to also add how much we enjoyed Allan. His knowledge / passion & wonderful personality made this a most unforgettable experience for us. We have told John’s brother that “he must” do this and we will return also. We loved the region / the people / the experience, etc. Thank you, John & Kathy Meek -

Myriam, Just wanted to tell you that we had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Dale, and Battlebus. We know that experiencing Normandy is about much more than simply seeing buildings, roads and beaches. It's about military strategy, the personal experiences of the people who were in Normandy before, during and after D Day, and the importance to world history that make Normandy such an amazing place to see. And your company with Dale's terrific guidance brought all of it to light. He painted pictures of the war we will always remember and taught us so much about the events of D Day and why events happened the way they did. We would recommend Battlebus to anybody who wishes to visit Normandy and we would love to some day come back and take other Normandy tours with your wonderful company. The Battlebus Tours was the highlight of our two week trip. We had originally scheduled just the American Highlights Tour with Dale, but my wife (the non-history buff) and myself (history buff) enjoyed it so much, we added an extra day to do the Band of Brothers Tour. We were glad we did. My wife, who wasn’t familiar with the book or series, especially enjoyed Dale’s presentation of the soldier’s experiences. My father flew B-17s in WW2, though he rarely talked about it, and I particularly enjoyed the respect everyone gave that generation. Sincerely, Bob and Terri Hansen –

I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for the wonderful experience we had on the D-Day tour of the American Beaches. Stuart was our guide and his passion and knowledge made the day a very special one. He combined an explanation of the history with anecdotes from D-Day veterans who had been on his tour. Good morning Paul, I would like to commend you, the entire Battlebus organization and particularly our tour guide Dale Booth, for providing a truly outstanding 2-day tour of the D-Day battle fields. My tour this past week exceeded my expectations in every way and was personally very meaningful. As you recall, it was my hope to visit the sites that my Father experienced when he came ashore on Utah Beach with the 4th division on June 6th, 1944. I was delighted to learn the Dale had studied the 4th in depth and that he spent the time to really share with our group the exploits of the 4th on D-day and the days immediately following. My Father, by choice, never spoke much about his time in Europe so my visit to Utah Beach was very special. Battlebus delivers a lot - more then they promise! As an ex-tour operator (1986-91) for large int'l convention travel I was greatly impressed with the smoothness and efficiency of your staff. Our small group of seven members was all taken with Dale and appreciated his excellent accounting of the events of D-Day. In particular, his stories of interviews with returning veterans, mixed with period and present photos, were excellent and brought to home the reality of the enormous difficulties our troops experienced in invading Europe. I hope to return again in the future to Normandy, hopefully with my Son and grandchildren, and will use Battlebus again. Thanks again for helping me to realize a long-held goal to visit Utah Beach and please extend my sincerest appreciation to Dale for a job well done. Best Regards, Ron Mitchell –

Dear Myriam: First of all, thank you for suggesting we stay in Bayeux - it is so lovely: a beautiful town to stay in, explore and enjoy - a most gracious introduction to France. The Tour was even better than expected. Dale was our guide and he was personable, thorough, knowledgeable and a superb guide. Dale pointed out the quirks and turns of the battle, telling us about things that you would never fully comprehend if he did not bring it to life for you by taking you
to these momentous sites and explaining the situation as it was at that time. From the flooding of the areas behind the beach, the German machine gun nests and the difficulty in capturing them, the horrors of the hedgerow fighting, to the taking and holding of a bridge or a road. He tied the battle together so that each crucial part was understood and placed in context with the whole of it. The mix of hard historical facts and personal stories, along with the local people we were fortunate to run into along the way who brought a very very personal touch, made this one of the best tours we have ever experienced and I would highly recommend your company and guides to anyone interested in the D-Day experience. Those who can bear witness to the events of those days are dwindling rapidly and we are so grateful to have met 2 of them and heard their stories. We saw and heard things on this tour that we would've never discovered ourselves and were humbled by the stories of unselfish bravery in the face of overwhelming difficulties. The windswept American Cemetery over Omaha Beach and the cliffs at Pont du Hoc brought tears and pride for a generation of allies who saved the world. Our thanks to the people of Normandy, for their donations of land and monuments to commemorate the events of that moment in time. Our thanks to the veterans of WWII and our thanks to you and your husband and your staff for the excellent job you do. Best regards, Gary Mahannah & Roberta Patton-Mahannah –

Hello from Atlanta - We are back home from several weeks in France, and I wanted to tell you how very much we loved the day Jim and I spent touring
with Sean on the 12th of October......... A friend had insisted we must tour with Paul but he was not available. I would now have to recommend that anyone looking for a guide must request Sean! There must be quite a friendly competition between you as to who receives the most accolades! Sean filled our day with well known sights and sights not so famous and combined the visual with wonderful stories that made the empty beaches and deserted fields come alive with history and sadness and joy and pride. He has a special gift for teaching and his love of the subject can never be doubted! I hope we will one day have the opportunity to return to Normandy and continue our tour. Thank you all very much. We just returned from our trip to Normandy and we are still talking about the fantastic experience we had with Dale and Allen. This was my second trip with Battlebus and I returned with 4 other family members and now they understand the remarkable job that Battlebus does. The passion and respect that Dale and Allen have for the vets and the job they did is inspiring. All the personal stories and the people we met along the tour who were witnesses to events just enriched our trip. As long as there are dedicated guides, telling the facts and stories of D Day the prices that were paid shall not be forgotten. Thanks again we look forward to a return trip. My family and I just returned from a 2 week trip to France. Our first stop was Bayeux and we spent 2 days with Dale on the American Experience Tour. The good news is that this was the highlight of our trip. Dale is an engaging, accomplished storyteller and guide. It is very obvious that he truly cares and brings such a higher level of emotion to his presentations. Several of us joked that you need to include "kleenex is mandatory when doing this tour" because Dale had us in tears in the first half and hour with one of his many touching stories of these veterans/heroes. Now the bad news......we wish we would have done the British and Canadian Tours and stayed on in Bayeux for an additional 3 or 4 days. We honestly felt that we could not get enough. This is an incredible experience and I feel fortunate that I was able to participate. Please thank Dale on our behalf and ask him if he is still wearing his FSU cap and if he can still do the chant :) We are talking about returning in the Spring for another tour. Thank you so much for making this incredible journey available!! Kathy Barrett, Orlando FL –

Myriam, Now that we are home, I wanted to send a quick thanks again to Dale and your entire team for our tour. We had a superb day, and with the unusual situation of being the only two on the tour, enjoyed very much the extra stops Dale was able to incorporate for us. He is obviously passionate about his subject, as well as being deeply informed, and made both a great guide and a great companion for the day. We also enjoyed the personal stories that were a big part of a very moving presentation. Thanks again for an excellent learning experience. Regards, Jill Lyon and Ralph Grutzmacher –

Dear Battlebus, We have just returned from our trip to France, but I have to say that the most memorable day of our trip was the day that we spent with Sean on the American Highlights tour. So often wars are recounted via statistics and numbers but thanks to Sean's knowledge and gift for storytelling by the end of the day we felt that we knew the individual men and each of their unique experiences and contributions to history. Sean truly honored these men and the history and we are grateful to him for all his hard work. We will definitely recommend your company and Sean to all of our

Dear Battlebus: My wife and I are recently returned from our visit to Normandy, and our tour with Dale on the Battlebus. What a fantastic service you provide! Having now seen the battlefield, I would never have attempted to tour the area on my own. There is simply too much to cover to not have a guide pointing out the highlights, and worrying about the driving. Dale "lasered in" on the most important destinations of the group, and had stories and information on all kinds of stuff along the trip - even on the drives from point-to-point. What a knowledgeable & dedicated member of your team; you are lucky to have him. Bayeux and the D-Day beaches were a 2 day diversion on a week-long trip to Paris; in the end it became the highlight of our vacation. I'm already reading the second book on your "recommended-reading" list, and we will visit again for the longer tour! Thanks so much for providing this important service. Hello we apologize for being so late in writing this, but we wanted to commend Dale for the excellent tour he gave us. We had an absolutely perfect day and sincerely appreciate Dale's individual effort to provide us a great experience. His passion for the war is evident and added so much to the tour. If there were such a thing as a PhD. in D-Day, Stuart Robertson would have it. We were on the American Highlights Tour with Stuart as our guide, and it was something we and our two daughters will never forget. His knowledge was detailed, intimate and extensive, and his passion for the events and history of that day were obvious. We hadn’t been aware of the reservists who played a such a big role and paid a such a great price at Omaha Beach, hadn’t known the full story of the German guns at Pointe du Hoc, and hadn’t heard the intriguing individual stories of some of the invasion’s participants until our tour. We came away knowing that the investment we made was well worth it. Thanks for the great experience. Arlene and Gary Washburn, Chicago –

Dear Battlebus, Recently my father and I went two tours, and they were both the best tours of my life! Though I am only twelve, I have gained a mammoth interest in WW2, and starting 2 1/2 years ago, started gobbling down adult books on the subject, and frankly, Battlebus was my picture-perfect image of a battlefield tour. The places where you go are so stunning, that at every stop I felt like fainting. The guides are riveting and never let up for a second jamming your head with knowledge and factoids that you would otherwise never know. In particular, I liked the Band of Brothers tour. My name is Scott Alexander and last week myself and my girlfriend Sarah took two tours with Battlebus. Dale was our guide for both tours and he was absolutely fantastic. From the minute we entered St. Mere Eglise at the beginning of the first tour you could tell that he is extremely passionate about the subject of D-Day and WWII in general. It is almost staggering how much Dale knows about things that happened on D-Day.Not only is he knowledgeable, but Dale is also very personable and easy to talk to. After visiting Brussels, Cologne, Paris, Reims and Normandy on the trip I just took, without a doubt my favorite part of the trip was the two days that I spent on the Battlebus tours. We are already looking ahead a few years hoping that we can come back and take all of the other tours you offer. I just wanted to say one last thing. During our two weeks in Europe, we did a lot of things. From visiting Grand Place in Brussels, to the top of the Eiffel Tower, to the beaches of Normandy, the best moment of my trip was spent with Battlebus. Dale took us to an extra stop; the Angoville Church where Kenneth Moore and Robert Wright set up an aid station. Sitting in that Church with Dale telling us the story of what happened there gave me chills. This is a testament to Dale's storytelling abilities combined with his knowledge of what happened there. Again, thank you Dale and Battlebus for making our two days in Normandy very memorable and here's to coming back as soon as possible. Best Regards, Scott Alexander and Sarah Nelson -

Dear Myriam, I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you what a lovely job that Allan did as our guide. We were with my elderly in laws and he was able to not only captivate them but also kept them going happily all day long. He also had the challenge of keeping our 14 year old daughter interested and was able to pull that trick off too! All the tales told were interesting and informative and really brought the history of the days of the invasion alive and real. Allan gave everyone a day to remember. Many thanks for putting this together for us. Kind regards, Phil Schuman -

I can't tell you how much my son and I enjoyed our recent trip to the Normandy coast, and the Battlebus tours were the highlight of our trip. Dale Booth is extremely knowledgeable regarding war in general and the D-Day invasion in particular. His story telling abilities made history come alive. Dale took time to thoroughly explain the events of the invasion, the strategy of the Allies and the Germans and the tragedies suffered on both sides. This was a trip of the life-time and I highly recommend it to anyone regardless of their knowledge or interest in WWII events. The small group format makes it easy to ask questions and allows everyone to enter into the experience. Since our return to Arizona, I have retold many of Dale's accounts from the Band of Brothers tour along with the American Highlights tour. As a result, we have many friends who have expressed an interest in joining your tour in the future. Please keep up the great work! Dale is a true talent and his love for the job really shows in the way he conducts the tours and makes it seem alive and exciting each time. It is one thing to watch a movie like "Saving Private Ryan" but to be standing on Omaha beach while Dale explains the events of the day brings it all into perspective. Concluding the day, while the sun is going down over the American cemetery, was an unbelievably moving experience. Thanks again for this truly outstanding opportunity to experience a monumental period of history in "living color" with a remarkable guide like Dale. Mark and Chad Walker

I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how much we enjoyed our tour and how much we appreciated all the effort and enthusiasm of our guide, Julian although we were the only ones on the tour that day. The trip was a present from me to my husband, who is a true history buff and I really did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Our trip to Normandy was one of the highlights of our travels thanks to Battlebus and Julian. Warm Regards, Dorian & Rolf Genther -

Hi Myriam, Just wanted to let you know that with the miles we covered from Paris to Carcassonne, Steven considered his tour with Battlebus his most favorite of all. Thank you to you and your staff for making our cousin very happy! Hope you got your token I left with the tour guide for you. I asked for you at the Info center, they told me you work from home. I wanted you to know that you may be behind the scenes but you are not forgotten! Thanks again! All the best, Stephanie Gray -

The Battlebus tour of the American points of interest, Omaha and Utah beaches was excellent - and less than perfect weather made the tour even more real. I especially appreciated the stop at Angoville-au-Plain and the story of the church, the medics, the Germans and the community. It's a necessary reminder that the war affected even the quietest corners of Normandy. Dale was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. He made the day one that I will never forget. Joan Shurtliff -

Myriam, I completed the British tour yesterday and wish to thank you and the guide for not only the professional way things were handled from the organisational part, but also from the passion and enthusiasm. Regards Colin Kahn - Australia -

Thank you Battlebus Tours for the experience of a lifetime! It was a lifelong dream of mine to see the sights of the D-Day landings and Allan was a superior guide. I thought I knew a lot about the invasion, but Alan's knowledge put mine to shame! On the first day of our American Experience Tour, our first sight, we started off with a rainbow appearing! At the end of our second day, the last stop at the cemetery, we again had a rainbow, this time, it showed up just over Omaha Beach. It was very moving! I am so glad that I used your company instead of just using some large bus tour. While we were at a few sites, we would see the buses arrive, get off, get a five minute speech, then get back on their bus and leave. It was not even close to the experience and attention that we received! It was worth every penny and more! I had such a great time, that I can see coming back to France and trying some of your other tours! Sincerely Brad Leitch -

The guides had an abundance of knowledge in the area of their tour and were always willing to answer any questions. The places visited on the trips were always accompanied with a detailed commentary an time to look around by yourself, leading to a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this company and these tours to other people. Dave Thornbury -

I just want to say your tour company is fantastic!! We had a great time. Dale was a fun and knowledgeable guide. He was able to talk in a way that everyone no matter what age you were, you understood him and enjoyed themselves. I only wish I had more time to take another one of your tours during my stay in France. I will definitely be back and hope to go on another tour with Dale!! Ed, Lea, Maria Mignone -

On March 12th my three sons and I took the Battlebus tour with Sean. What a moving and heart rendering experience! Sean was extremely knowledgeable, and his stories about individuals and their struggles on that fateful day added so much to our tour. My only regret was that we did not have more hours to spend. Sean and the tour were one of the reasons we wanted to come to Europe, and we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Normandy that they take the tour, and if possible take it with Sean. Toby Winiarski -

Hello Battlebus, For years I have read books on the D-Day landings and so a trip to Normandy was always inevitable. My concern was that my feelings for this particular period in history would be tainted or diminished by what I saw. I was concerned that tacky tourism would diminish my respect for what was sacrificed during 1944. I am glad to say this was not the case. The full day we spent with your tour guide Allan Bryson was incredible. Allan took us to so many unique vantage points and brought to life the events surrounding the landings at Omaha and Utah as well as the incredible conflicts at La Pointe Du Hoc, Sainte-Mere-Eglise and Carentan. Allan told us the stories of individuals who fought in each of these places that gave us a deeper understanding of just how terrifying these events were. It was clear Allan's knowledge of these events came from many years of research and a passionate desire to learn more about the individuals involved. For myself and my wife this was an amazing trip. For my two teenage daughters it was also an eye opening experience that has given them a very unique insight into one of the most significant events in World history. Thank you for a very special day. Simon Hewlett -

Dear Myriam and Company, I just wanted to thank your Company, and in particular Sean, for a great two days of tours of the Canadian battlefields in Normandy. Sean is a great guide and extremely knowledgeable about the Canadian Army's role in the Invasion. Even the 8 students, who often can be quite jaundiced about things, raved about Sean's guiding and knowledge and the tours. I will be back in Europe again next summer as part of my Doctoral work, and after my studies in Wales are over, my wife and I are planning on taking another of your tours, as well as enjoying the Norman countryside. I will be sure and book early though! My wife, who has lived in Rouen before just loves the Norman countryside and I have fallen for it as well. We hope one day to be able to live there. Thanks again for all your help and please express to Sean our great satisfaction with his excellent guiding. Sincerely, The Rev. Tom Wilson -

Hi Paul, Just wanted to say thanks for the tour we three Irish guys went on last Sunday. We were lucky we picked your company and even luckier we got you on the day (no offence to your other guides!). it was a great day and to be able to interact and speak to someone with real and literature experience of the subject made it priceless. The photos I have will be treasured as will your website. Its a long bloody drive back to Beauvais airport in the morning with a hangover though. Your sense of humour and balance made it even more enjoyable. Tony Ferguson -

Many thanks for the tour of the British sector, t was very informative and interesting; the 9 hours flew past. This is the best way to maximise the time available. It was also good fun and Dale's jokes were pretty good too! e would definitely recommend the Battlebus WWII Battlefield Tours. Laurence and Linda McNairn -

Hello from Canada, my husband and I, toured with Stuart for a Canadian Juno day trip. He offered a very knowledgeable and expansive commentary throughout the tour. We appreciated the photos from 1944 of the sites we were taken to. He showed enthusiasm and sensitivity towards the history of our Canadian servicemen's contributions during WW 11. The anecdotes from veterans he'd had the privilege of meeting added much to our appreciation of the events and of course, the day. We thank him and will gladly promote your company and services. Kindest regards, Sharon O'Shaughnessy & Carl Bronevitch -

Hi Myriam: I just wanted to take a minute to forward a very sincere "thank you" to everyone at Battlebus Tours! Our guide, Julian was wonderful! He took the extra time to be sure that we had the chance to visit all of the important sites in the Normandy area. The two days went by so fast. Other than the very cold-windy weather, we had a perfect tour! Out stay in Bayeux was excellent, though I wish we had more time to visit. Thank you for confirming our reservations at the Best Western De Brunville. The people in France, Germany and Austria were wonderful. We hope to return to visit some time in the future! Please forward our best wishes to Julian. He is an outstanding tour guide! Sincerely, Steve & Ronda Wapon -

I wanted to tell you how awesome your tours were. Honestly, your guides made the American and British Highlight tours outstanding. I learned so much and have walked away with a heightened sense of what happened in Normandy in June 1944. Also in the future, I will look for other tour companies that provide customer testimonials like Battlebus. This was my first guided tour (as I was travelling alone) and it was great. Trust me...I will pass along your company name to as many people as I can. Cheers, Doug M. -

I went on your Band of Brothers tour with my partner when we were on holiday in Europe and you would just thank you for a great tour. The name of our guide was Allan, so please pass on our thanks for a very informative and enjoyable day. We both learned a lot of new things and I certainly now have the desire to learn much more about the subject. Thanks Allan Wright -

Dear Paul and Myriam, This recent "Calgary Highlander's" tour was superb and in the best traditions of Battlebus excursions. Sean was terrific. He has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the Regiment's campaign in Normandy which encompassed details about their German opponents that I had not heard before. He was enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable and great fun to travel with. Maintaining staff of this caliber will, I suspect, be the key to your continued success. The photo record of our tour is being placed in the Calgary Highlander museum and provided with a formal showing later this year or early next. We will cite Battlebus as the organizer's of the tour which made the portfolio and presentation possible. Thanks again. Cheers, Barry Sheehy -

I just wanted to comment on the amazing experience that I had on the Battlebus Tour I don't typically like tours, but my experience with Battlebus was beyond words. Our tour guide, Dale, had knowledge and perspective about WWII beyond my expectations. I especially liked the personal stories that were shared with our group. I have recommended your tour to many friends and family. Thank you so much Dale for such a moving experience! It will be something that I remember forever. Kindest Regards, Kara Busler -

Hello to All: On behalf of our group I wanted to say how much we enjoyed the three days of touring we did with you last week. Our guide Allan was extremely cordial, informative and professional. In addition, he modified his normal itinerary to take advantage of the tides and time of day so we could fully experience the spectacle of the landing beaches. With the vastness of the area and the multitude of stories to experience I can't imagine attempting to tour on our own. My wife and I will be in Paris in September and are considering adding a few days in Normandy. If we get there we will definitely tour with you again. Please pass on a personal hello to Allan from all of us. Regards, Marshall Burnette -

Bonjour Batlebus gang!! Another successful year of touring with you guys, many thanks. I can't thank you enough for all the effort and research you put into our trips. We still love the American 2 day tour, REALLY love the Band of Brothers tour, and were blown away by Dale taking us off-the-beaten-path and into the foxholes and trenches of the inland fighting, for our 2 days of private tours. I think we broke some new ground for Battlebus customers, and were psyched to be a part of it. We look forward to going further inland next year toward Mortain and Operation Cobra, and anything else you can think of. Your company is by far the best, and we tell everyone about you. Thanks again for taking such good care of us, see you in fall of '09, and keep us posted on any new developments and findings!! David Digby, Boston USA -

I'm sorry it's taken so long to write, but I want to thank you for the absolutely wonderful time we had on our American Tour of Normandy the end of March. Julian was our guide, and his knowledge of the invasion and the surrounding area was outstanding. My 15 year old son is immersed in WWII history, and I was extremely impressed and grateful that Julian had the genuine patience to answer all of his (many) questions. What the made the tour so special were the stories behind the story that Julian shared. It turned what could've been an otherwise ordinary sight-seeing tour into an informative and compelling day. Plus, the small tour group was definitely the way to go. Having completed the American Tour, I regret we didn't plan a different tour for another day. Nevertheless, Julian graciously provided plenty of recommendations, from other towns to museums to beaches, that we were able to see many of them on our own the next day. Thanks again for such a perfect experience. Staying in Bayeux only added to the moment, and we look forward to touring with you again. I've had no hesitation recommending you to family, friends or anyone who will listen. Your professionalism and customer focus brought to life the phrase "once in a lifetime". Respectfully, Barry, Brenda, Phillip and Monica -

Dear Myriam: Please pass along to Allan who was our guide on the recent Battlebus tour we took, how much we enjoyed the two day tour we took with him as our guide. He was very well informed and spared no effort to ensure we had a comprehensive tour of the battle field sites. I would definitely recommend this tour with Allan as a guide to anyone interested in the American D Day Landing sites. Thank you for a great tour and the weather was just what we ordered, gorgeous!! Yours sincerely, Darall and Jennifer Luderman -

Dear Battlebus: I have just returned from Normandy, where I had three days of tours with you. They were all terrific. Dale Booth gave both the American Experience tour, and he completed my three-day excursion with the Band of Brothers tour. Both were excellent, and I was happily surprised by how little overlap there was between the two experiences. I would have been happy even had there been more. First, accolades to Dale. Great guy. Very knowledgable, and this is clearly a passion for him. Many thanks to Battlebus for a fine few days in Normandy; finally the weather cooperated a bit--the rain on Utah on Friday was less than wonderful (last Friday). Many thanks again. I'll try to enter something glowing on your website if you find that helpful. With all warmest regards, Ryan Lesh
