This Easy Company and 101st Airborne Tour doesn't include any beaches, but visits sites depicted in the miniseries and other related places.  Learn the history from guides who have actually met the veterans. We visit the site of Lt. Meehan's C-47 crash , the farm at Ravenoville where Talbert and Guth fought, the German wagon ambush site , Sainte Marie du Mont , Brecourt Manor  site of the 105mm guns , before moving on to Carentan,
Dead Man's Corner , Purple Heart Lane  and Bloody Gulch . Why choose us?

The Tour in greater detail
Please note - although this tour can be taken on its own, it is perhaps best taken along with our American Highlights or Experience Tour.

Why choose our
Band of Brothers Tour?

Drop Zones - We commence in and around  Sainte Mére Eglise , where various members of Easy landed and indeed some fought with the 82nd on D-Day . Hear how the men, including Lipton , “Bull” Randleman , “Moe” Alley, Earl McClung  and Dick Winters himself fared jumping into France.

Night Ambush - We then stop by the intersection where the TV series shows Easy Company ambushing several German carts and troops. Here the REAL version of events!

Meehan’s C-47 Crash site - Here we see the striking monument and field where Easy Company lost it’s second CO Thomas Meehan and all the other men in his Stick.

Ravenoville - We move to Marmion Farm where we have special permission to enter the courtyard. Here is where several famous photos were taken and where the mis-dropped Floyd Talbert , Smokey Gordon , and Forrest Guth fought with elements of the 502nd under Major Stopka . We also hear about the initial attack by A/506th men including Donald R Burgett, the famous author and historian.

Route through the hedgerows - We move to through the very lanes Easy Company travelled towards their intended objective overlooking Causeway Number 2 .

Brecourt Manor - The location of Easy Company’s now famous assault on D-Day morning. We view the field where Lt. Richard Winters and a small group of troopers attacked and silenced the battery of German 105mm guns that were raining shells onto Utah beach . Few tour operators have the privileged access to the area Battlebus has. Hear the real story of this important battle and compare it to the TV version , using maps and photos and the special anecdotes
we have from the actual men who participated.

Sainte Marie du Mont - Where the now famous cover-photo for Stephen Ambrose’ book was taken in front of the town war memorial . Around this time of day we usually get a sandwich lunch from a B&B near Utah beach.

Culoville - Most of the 2/506th PIR spent the night of June 6th near this hamlet, including Winters and Colonel Sink.

Dead Man’s Corner Museum . A museum run by our good friend Michel de Trez. Inside are some truly unique Easy Company exhibits and other 101st Airborne items, together with fantastic dioramas showing German and American troops in the fully restored original house and militaria store.

The Causeway - We stop on the road into Carentan , now known as Purple Heart Lane  where LTC Robert Cole’s 3rd Battalion 502nd battled for 2 to 3 days, on over the four bridges and to Ingouf Farm and the Cabbage Patch where Cole earned his Medal of Honor (depicted in the computer game Brothers in Arms - the road to Hill 30. )

Carentan - Liberated by the 101st on 12th June , we stop on the street into town comparing original photos with both the miniseries and the current buildings. See the area where Lipton and Tipper were wounded by German gun-fire and the square where the 101st medal ceremonies took place.

Bloody Gulch - This is an area of rolling hills and hedgerows where tanks of the 17th SS attacked the next day. See the exact area where Guarnere, Welsh, Malarkey and all the others held the right flank of the Divison .

Other stops and time for questions  - There are other places we can stop if we have the time - Vierville and  Holdy being just two .  But the best thing about this tour is the interaction between you the clients are us the guides.  There is time for questions, discussions and photos.

A once in a lifetime visit - Our extensive study of the 101st Airborne in Normandy  and friendship with the best historians including Mark Bando and the veterans themselves  makes us the best locally based company with whom to experience the Band of Brothers sites.

I am an avid Band of Brothers fan, owning the DVDs and book and having spent hours trawling the net for info. What I learned on this tour is something I would not have missed.

The explanations of the Band of Brothers series and the actual events was fascinating. My son and I have memories we'll never forget. Thank You!!

The guide’s telling the story of how E Co. took out the guns at Brecourt Manor has supplanted the visual "memory" I had from watching "Band of Brothers." It's even more real now.

Band of Brothers©® is the title of the book by Stephen Ambrose. Please note - this tour is only suitable if all participants have read the book and/or seen the miniseries before
travelling. Some images used are from the TV series to depict the places visited.

We reserve the right to alter tour itineraries as necessary and without prior notice. This can be because of traffic delays, museum closures or bad weather etc

Please note that 12 years is the minimum age to take this tour

There is a moderate amount of walking and a considerable amount of standing on this tour
