We have two friends in Belgium we recommend for Battle of the Bulge Tours and we invite you to contact them directly. They will let you know about their prices, availability and suggested touring itineraries.  We personally suggest that you should allocate two days to tour the Ardennes. In two-days it is possible to see a wide variety of places from where Kampfgruppe Peiper attacked at Baugnez , through to Malmedy , Bastogne , Foy and Noville where the 101st Airborne were surrounded.

Suggestions of Places to visit
This is just a brief list of some varied and interesting sites, please discuss exact itineraries with the guide himself.

Malmedy - Site of the Malmedy Massacre by German SS on the orders of Kampfgruppe Peiper in fact took place at the small village of Baugnez . A Memorial and new museum to the victims of the massacre now stands near the spot.

Bastogne -   where there are still many monuments that bear witness to the momentous events of December 1944. The Hotel Lebrun and the Heintz Barracks which were the command posts of CCB , 10th Armored and 101st Airborne Divisions . A marker stone signifies a stop along the Liberty Highway in Place McAuliffe , named after the General who gave his famous “Nuts” answer to the Germans requesting the surrender of the American Forces. See the
Sherman tank on display there whose armour was visibly pierced by a 88mm German shell

Bastogne Historical Centre Museum - which is a great place to have a look at the actual uniforms and equipment used by both sides, you can also get souvenirs here and watch a detailed account of the Battle of the Bulge.

Foy - here in the Bois Jacques we will see the foxholes dug by the Airborne defenders, most notably those of E/506th Band of Brothers as they struggled in temperatures of -20c to pitch their brave defence of the Bastogne perimeter with the rest of the 101st Airborne Division.

Ham the beautifully located American military cemetery and final resting place of General George Patton . Inside this cemetery are detailed maps of the allied advance of 44/45.

Assenois - see the pillbox silenced by Lt Charles Boggess' Sherman tank, which now stands as a Memorial to the 4th Armored Division’s momentous Breakthrough.

Poteau -  Is a small village in the heart of the Ardennes that saw a lot of action. It’s where the 14th Cavalry Group were ambushed by Kampfgruppe Hansen on December 18, 1944. There’s now an excellent museum in the village.

Henri-Chapelle
This cemetery lies on the crest of a ridge affording an excellent view. The site was liberated on 12 September 1944 by troops of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division . Among the graves are 33 instances in which 2 brothers rest side by side, and one instance of 3 brothers who all fell during combat. Here rest 7989 Americans, most of whom gave their lives in the Battle of the Bulge.

Please note that it is your responsibility to make your own arrangements for your Adrennes Tour.

Customer comments about this tour

Henri
was an absolute pleasure to have spent two days with. His commitment to keeping the deeds and sacrifices of those who fought in this great battle fresh in our memories is difficult to describe. We believe he is the gold standard for the Battle of the Bulge guides. William Gillison
